It seems the time for changes is upon us, should I stay or should I go...

I never thought moving overseas for the second time was going to be easy, but I didn't think it would be quite this hard.
Transporting you back four years to a time where my London life was something out of a dream, lavish parities, flowing champagne, load of celebrities.

This time I'm just living a normal life. Is this really where I want to be living my normal life or would it just be easier to admit defeat and head home with my tail between my legs to start setting roots up where it matters.

So here I tell the story of simple ex-pat life...

There is two sides to any ex-pat journey and mine is no different. There is the golden side and there is the dark side.

This dark side I'm talking about is when you see everything that's been happening at home, all your friends seems to be getting married, buying houses and moving forwards with their careers. And what am I doing with my life?

Yes, I have some amazing memories but what does the future hold for someone who is constantly moving around.

Here is a little insight to my life at the moment. I work Monday through Friday from 8-6. My commute takes 45 to an hour, including a bus and the underground (Let me tell you the joy of catching a red double decker bus wears off after you have to do it daily. Sure the tube is great and exciting when your a tourist but morning or evening rush hour takes the glimmer away). I pay my extravagant rent for my tiny room and my monthly bills, this leaves me with just enough money to buy a weekly travel card and food for the week. Not exactly living the high life. Thank-god partying is still free, but I rarely get to enjoy it because I've got to be up at 6 am to start my day again. On the weekend I'm free to travel and catchup with my friends but because we are all in the same boat, it make it tricky.

Don't get me wrong I love living in another country. There is so much to see and do. I love soaking up all the country has to offer. I have seen amazing sight, met amazing people and done some crazy things. I wouldn't change anything in my life because it's made me the person I am today. These are the stories I'm going to be telling my grand-kids one day...or my cats depending if I get lucky enough to meet a nice man. This is that golden side I was telling you about..

I think it's all about doing what makes you happy. If living abroad isn't it any more then maybe it's time to go home...

Writing this down is the most discussion I've had on the matter. Maybe I'm over-thinking this one. But knowing my doubts are there, maybe it's time to accept what fate has in store for me, including moving on. I'm just waiting for the signs…

But either way I regret not sticking by my goal. I tend to do that a lot not stick to my goals for some reason they change so fast based on other peoples ideals, that I think I have actually lost my own set of goals in the process.

Before I left I had a few people telling me moving overseas is putting my life on hold. I told these people that it's was my life and no one can put my life on hold other than me.

So I ask myself, how did I get to where I am today?

As Maria from Sound of Music once said...you have to start at the very begging it's a very good place to start...

This year I decided to change my way of thinking. In July I hoped on board a 774 with my friend to Europe. We saw England, Italy, Greece, The Greek Islands and Spain. It started out as a holiday, which turned into me (my friend went home) extending it by 2 months, so could see more of the world.

I went to Berlin alone, but found out I'm too much of a people person to travel alone. I need people to talk to on a regular basis, yes I made lots of amazing friends, from Canada, Australia, England and Spain just to name a few but nether the less it's hard travelling with someone for a month and a half to go straight into travelling alone.

So the big plans I had to see the rest of Europe were put slightly on hold, while I decided what I should do. I came back to London with fresh optimism and set out to figure life out. If I knew life would have been so hard to figure out I might have just gone home. But I didn't, instead I through off the bowlines and decided to sail into the unknown (theoretically speaking that is) .

In October I was due to fly back home, but instead I did something I never thought I'd have the courage to do. I let my flight back to Melbourne leave, with me not on it. It was a big deal, I've never been the biggest risk taker. It was a strange feeling of freedom and self worth. But for some strange reason this time felt like more of a challenge, maybe it's because I'm older and wiser. Not to old but old enough to realise it's hard moving out of home, let alone half way around the world. Here's the thing I've lived overseas before, in London to be exact when I was 19. I think the main difference from last time is I always had the safety net of my flight home. But this time my safety net has disappeared.

If you have friend or family who have moved overseas, it is a wonderful, exciting and exhilarating time but it's also hard and lonely. You get to see the most amazing sites, meet incredible people and these are the things that most people will tell you about when they come home. But what the don't tell you is while your living here it's hard it's really, really hard. But I just want to let you know it's OK, it will get better. Well here's hoping...

It has come to my attention after recent happenings within my life that
people don't believe that calling someone too skinny hurts just as much as
calling someone too fat. We always hear about people getting called too fat,
more often than too skinny. But believe me it hurts all the same.

Not every super skinny girl has an eating disorder.

I've always been slim since I was a child; I have been tall and lanky. I had
to put up with years of being called anorexic, -gee children are so creative-
and it hurt to know I wasn't and to be kept being called these names. People
still say I’m to skinny, but I eat junk food and whatever I want and still stay
really skinny. (Thanks Dad)

The other day while I was out and about I ran into a friend I’d
gone to High School with, the first thing she said to me after the initial
"Hi" was "My god you are still so skinny!!’...Thanks I hadn't
noticed, but it brings me to this point what if I’d turned around to her and
said ‘Oh my god you're still so FAT!!’ I wouldn’t because I know that’s
unacceptable.

Just so you all out there know every girl worries about their bodies, their
imperfections and the way they look. Even supermodels worry; they are constantly
under pressure to stay slim. It should be a common fact in today’s society that
skinny comments can hurt just as much as fat comments. It doesn’t matter what shape or size, we all see imperfections when we look in the mirror. So next time you think
about making said comments, just remember… Every girl has issues about
their looks!!!

To add to my already good day, a laugh in the morning is the next best thing, if your to busy to make that glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Maybe you’re on the commute to work, although it is 10:00am - not to rub it in- so lucky you if you are on the commute to work you start late!!

But enough chit-chat, the main reason I’m here this morning is to make you laugh...lately I’ve been seeing heaps and heaps of these your e-cards on facebook and social networking sites.

Some are funny, some cute, some rude and some down right mean.

But here are a few of the best I’ve seen in the last week or two.
But don't fear I’m making my much anticipated comeback into the arena...haven't heard of me well you will from this point on!!
If you're new or old this blogs not really about anything in particular it's just a bunch on my rambles and weird and wondrous facts that make my life just a little bit more interesting!!

I actually have a pretty funny story for you...it all happened a few weeks ago...

So the other Weekend after a big night out my friend and I were talking about travelling and how we hate long bus journeys.
She told me about a horrendous one that took 8 hours which I told her was nothing compared to my 12 hour on from Switzerland to France on my Contiki.
Knowing full well she herself had been on Contiki, I asked her if she had done the same trip and had just forgotten about it.

She said no she had not gone to France on her Contiki tour, out of curiosity I asked where indeed she had been on her tour.

This is what followed...

Me: Where did you go on your Contiki?

Friend: Well I went all around Europe you know, Germany, Austria, Amsterdam, Switzerland and Paris ect.

Me: Sorry did you say Paris?

Friend: Yeah, I loved Paris.

Me: So you did go to France!

Friend: Nah, I didn't go to France on my Contiki, but I went later though.

At this point let’s just say I was a little shocked.

But I pressed on.

Me: But if you went to Paris you went to France. France is the Country, Paris is the city you can't have one with out the other!

Friend: No, I didn't go to France!!!

Me: Ok, well you did but let’s leave it at that!

(Also just to note, if you do a Contiki that leaves from London you have to catch a ferry from the White Cliffs of Dover to Calais, France. So the first place you go on almost every Contiki is France!)

I was shocked...are you shocked!

I just had to share this with you!!
Well, that might seem like an easy task but it has taken me a little time to ponder my thoughts and come up with a way to write said letter!

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">You see I’m in a little bit of a pickle, I’m 22 –nearly 23, sad panda- and still don’t know what I really want to.

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">I wish I was one of those kids who grow up knowing what they want to be -well I did but being a super model isn’t as easy as I thought- so I’ve had to put that dream to the back of the stock pile, while I work out what I can actually do with my life on a more realistic level.

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">So I’m sitting here thinking what I would really like to do with my life and I’m already stumped, sure I have a few ideas of what I want to do, I want to have a job that’s fun and rewarding. Where I’m still free to have the hobbies and free time, lunch dates with friends are important. I want to be in an environment where I can grow and move. Sometimes it seems like I can’t get past the superficial wall to figure out what I really want to do.

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">I blame American TV, life isn’t a dream like those shows, this is reality. So here I go I’m going to list the things I enjoy or skill I think I have to see if anything jumps out in front of my eyes!

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">I enjoy being creative, I like working with children and fashion is fun…cooking relaxes me but as a job maybe too stressful. I hate standing up for long periods but I also hate sitting down for long periods, I get to fidgety. I hate maths and numbers, but love history and art. I do enjoy planning things, and having everything come together at the finally result. I love travelling, and being somewhere new.

<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha; mso-fareast-font-family: FangSong;">
So all the skills I have seem to lead no where, I want to travel and spend my life making an adventure. I want to pursue something I want to make a difference. I want to help people I want to be someone that I’m proud o<span style="font-family: "Magical Mystery Tour"; mso-bidi-font-family: Gisha;">f!
Stephi.Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12170019766509276941noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7403005760541576377.post-29838600320188946982011-04-30T16:39:00.001+10:002011-04-30T16:39:25.090+10:00Check it out!!!Hey guys,
It's not as bad as it seems i'm a huge fan of Rascal Flatts and really rate there music so, when they decided to do a duet with the Biebs I was a little apprehensive.
But i've been proven wrong once again, and let me tell you that doesn't happen very often. but it's an amazing song and i can't stop singing it and belting it out at the top of my very tone deaf -not that lungs can really be tone deaf but you get my drift- lungs!!

I have just realised I haven't actually mentioned the name of the song, it's called That Should Be Me.

I think the songs lyrics are pretty relatable, everyones lost/will lose a partner to someone else. As they said on Glee this week, the best lyrics come from personal experinces!

I'm posting the youtube link below have a listen and tell me what you think!

Also while we are on the topic of music...Friday - need I say more! I do actually feel a bit sorry for her, out of all the songs this ark music has made Rebecca Blacks song isn't even the worst, if anything it's the best of a bad bunch!Stephi.Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12170019766509276941noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7403005760541576377.post-45963148886308842942011-01-17T10:50:00.003+11:002011-01-17T11:01:48.357+11:00A Fabulous weekendI had the most fabulous weekend, the sun was shining the bird were singing (thank god in a tree really far away from me- I'm petrified of birds).

It was just one of those weekends surrounded by fun loving carefree people, which is what I’m trying to be this year! That’s my New Years Resolution to be more carefree! But back to the weekend, drinks with the girls in the sun, cranking some hard beats and hitting up the d-floor! And the was all just on Saturday.

Sunday I was lucky enough to purchase some tickets to the rally for Relief at Rod laver Arena, and I’m glad I did was such a fantastic day, besides i practically melted in the sun and have a nasty forehead burn!! But it was for the flood victims so I’ll keep my suffering to myself!

For those who don't know the rally for relief was a fundraiser on the eve of the Australian Open to raise some much needed funds for the Queensland flood victims’.

The players such as Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal and my new love Novak Djokovic, all made there way to the courts, providing some much need comic relief.

The game was nothing to be taken serious with Andy Roddick making passes at anything in a skirt and sometime even the boys! Ball girls, lines men and 3 players against 1 all battled it out in teams of Green and Gold captained by 2 Aussie greats Pat Rafter and Leyton Hewitt.

At one stage Djokovic left the court altogether to try his hand at photography, thoroughly enjoying the cameras extended zoom which he pointed at Caroline Wozniacki as she posed in a figure-hugging pink and white ensemble. "I can see more than you think!" quipped Djokovic.

It was a fantastic day, with everyone who was involved feeling ebullient from the day of helping others.

All us ticket buying fans, helped to raise over A$300,000 (£187,000), corporate sponsors also help out and Queensland Energy Services said they would match anything we made within the next 2 weeks of the Australian Open.

Sam Stosur also piped in she'll donate A$500 for every ace she hits during the tournament, also with the Governing bodies of the men's and women's tours donating A$10 for every ace hit in the tournament.

Let the ACE tennis begin, (see what I did there) the Australian Open starts today!

Two Choices

What would you do?....you make the choice. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway.

My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:
'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.
Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do.
Where is the natural order of things in my son?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!

Run to first!'

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

B y the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball . the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!

'Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

I have always thought I’d been to quite a few places and see a lot of the world, but according to this map below I’ve only seen 7% of the world visited and would like to visit 5% . I'm sure that’s more than a lot of people but I always rated my travel experience as high...but apparently not!

This map was kind of fun to do! It's pretty cool to see where you've been and where you are going mapped out in front of you! The Blue show's where I've been, the Red where I've lived and the Green where I want to go!Take a turn yourself!

It's a cute song and has a great beat, I can't get it outta my head.

But wait a second isn't she 9...when i was 9 I was still playing with my Barbies. (Ok so my dad wasn't famous and all but still) Don't get me wrong I love a good magazine special on the Hollywood kiddies as the next person but are these Hollywood tots growing up far to fast.

Suri Cruise only last week spent a reportedly $1300 on makeup. And has a wardrobe that would be a lot more than many of us will make in a life time! And she's 4 and wears high-heels! Jealous much? I am!

(I hope I get to take a photo just like this when I'm in Disneyland!)

Apparently the Joile-Pitt clan, are allowed to do what ever they like swear, eat junk and Maddox 9 drinks wine and drives the car around the property. These are claims from a money hungry nanny so who know if there true.
I struggled to find a photos of the modern Brady Bunch all together!
But it got me thinking about what us girls put ourselves through on a night out! I may have had one too many drinks, but surprisingly was ok in the morning! But it wasn't until today that I woke today with an excruciating pain in my ankle - I unfortunately have a bad case of weak ankles from the years or Netball and the once unfortunate high jump experience when I was way to tall for the small mat- that I remember rolling it when i got out of the club and was looking for a taxi.

I know we've all heard it before that high heels are causing us women foot deformities, sciatic nerve pain, knee pain, herniated discs and a range of other crippling maladies. But why am I telling you this…just have a look at the video below.

I'm not going to lie i'll still wear high heels just maybe with more caution now! And not till my ankles better!!

Ps. I always think it's pretty funny when I see girl young and old who buy these ridiculously high heels and then can't walk in them! It makes me laugh; I have a friend who does it all the time. She may as well wear flats because she looks ridiculous when she can't walk in her shoes! :PStephi.Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12170019766509276941noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7403005760541576377.post-7005797982331974842010-10-12T12:00:00.001+11:002010-10-12T12:03:15.414+11:00Nail design

I'm in love with this new nail polish colour i got from Sportsgirl last week for 3 bucks!
Miley at it again, her new music video for 'Who Owns My Heart' has landed her in hot water.

Ok so in the video, she rolls around on a bed in skimpy lingerie before riding to a nightclub in a limousine wearing a pair of very tiny short-shorts.

I love Miley and I’m not embarrassed to say it, I love her poppy vibe and her borderline edgy videos clips.

Why is everyone giving Miley crap, sure she was once the innocent little Hannah Montana but she’s growing up isn’t it about time people let her!

I these people, who complain about her “raunchy” videos, need to get a life, and grow up!

What about Britney and Christina, they’ve all been there!

I say leave the girl alone and get back to your own lives and stop picking on the lives of those you have no control over!!

Rock it Miley!!!

Take a look for yourself...
The reviews will be straight from my gorgeous Louis Vuitton make up box to you!

To start us off, straight from my make up-box, this week i'm loving my Garnier Youthful Radiance UV Protect SPF15 face moisturiser.

I got this little beauty from the Flower and Garden show at the Garnier tent, so bonus it was free! It normally RRP for about $16.00.

I find the lotion quite lightweight, you only need one pump of the bottle, it rubs in easily and it doesn't leave my skin looking oily.

It helps to keep my skin hydrate through out the day. I love it how it has a SPF 15 perfect for the whole year round!

While reading the back of the bottle it said it helps to reduce the signs of sun damage such as fine lines, uneven skin tone and sun spots, now we could all use a little of that!

Actaully the Caulfield Cup is kicking of the Spring Carnival of this weekend.

I came across this song and thought it was rather appropriate for this time of year!

Take a look! It's sung by <span dir="ltr" id="eow-title" title="AJ Michalka - "It's Who You Are" Music Video">AJ Michalka from Aly & AJ fame!
Candy? Lollipops? You ask no these are "flavours" of oxygen offered at your local oxygen bar.

Have you guys seen these, I’ve never really heard about them before until I stumbled across this photo of my gorgeous friends, at a London club hooked up to the thing. They look like gorgeous models hooked up to an IV. My friend tells me its "Its sooo much fun! Getting high without alcohol lol"

Rumour has it that oxygen bars were introduced in the USA in the late 1990s, the trend has caught on, and customers are bellying up to bars around the country to sniff oxygen through a plastic hose.

For about a dollar a minute, enthusiasts inhale 95 percent oxygen and report that it relieves a variety of maladies from hangovers to headaches.

So next time your at your local bar ask if they have an Oxygen bar to try!Stephi.Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12170019766509276941noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7403005760541576377.post-23269350062511907562010-10-05T10:11:00.000+11:002010-10-05T10:11:45.941+11:00Vaseline - Lip Therapy VS. Blistex - Lip ConditionerWhich one is better for my lips, I tend to use both which ever one my fingers glide across first in the bottom of my bag is the one I choose. But which one is really better for my lips. I've been told that people’s lips get dependant on Blistex, is this true?
VS.

I’ve done a little comparison between the two. I think I prefer the Vaseline - Lip Therapy better, it glides on easily and doesn't make my lips feel dry still! While with the Blistex - Lip Conditioner my lips still feel rough and dry, like there still craving moisture! The only plus I've found with Blistex is its SPF 20 while my Vaseline is only SPF 15! In summers that extra SPF 5 really helps!

I also use Luca's Papaw Ointment, but have unfortunately run out at the moments, but this one has no SPF so it's not great for the summer! The thing I love about it though is it's great for other things like stings and bites. While travelling around Italy, I went to Venice and we are staying at a water side hotel and the mossies were horrid, I normally don't get bitten by their Aussie cousins but these guys just loved my blood (Vampires I tell you)!

After trying all the different bite creams, from all over the world, I was on to my last resort and pulled out the tube of Luca's Papaw to put on my chapped lips, that’s when I read the back and it said for bites so I thought I’d try it out, so I dabbed some onto the bites, amazing instant relief!

I would highly recommend it!
